Passion Sunday

Passion Sunday this year coincided with the first day of spring and the Iranian New Year. We had a Haft Sîn table of seven foods beginning with the letter 's' and a bowl of goldfish to symbolize new life.

They also brought cakes - baklava- for all to share

which were much appreciated went well with our usual excellent coffee

.













So everyone was happy!

Anne Widdecombe at the HBS Literary Society

The Rt Hon Anne Widdecombe MP in conversation with the Vicar at the Henrietta Barnett School Literary Society on Thursday 18 March.

"Over 200 people attended the 9th Henrietta Barnett School Literary Society on Thursday for “An Evening with Ann Widdecombe”.

Jo Velleman, Development Director at The Henrietta Barnett School, who organises the HBS Literary Society events said: “These events have become very prestigious, well attended and well received.

Past speakers have included Will Self, Nick Hornby, Tracey Chevalier, Deborah Moggach, Martin Bell and David Aaronovitch".

The next two events in the HBS Literary Society series are with Julian Fellowes on April 29 and Jeffrey Archer on November 11.
