Anna Steppler and Sofia Östling met in 2014 as Masters Students on the organ at Högskolan för Scen och Musik, University of Gothenburg. They have been playing as a duo on a variety of combined keyboard instruments ever since, be it two clavichords, harpsichord and fortepiano, or two at the same organ. Having performed in various venues in Sweden, they look forward to deafening a new audience today.

Anna Steppler was appointed the HBS Nicholas Maines Organ Scholar at St Jude's in 2008 before going up to Merton College, Oxford, where she was organ scholar, and was awarded a first class degree in Music in 2013. Since then she has completed a Masters in Organ and Related keyboard instruments at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and in August will move to the US to start studying for a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Cornell University, NY, on a Sage fellowship.

Sofia Östling has studied Church music, organ and piano in Stockholm at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, and studied for a Masters in Organ and related keyboard instruments at the University of Gothenburg. She is currently working on a Masters in Choral Conducting at Malmö Conservatoire, and is organist in Eslöv, Skåne. Having taken part in Sweden's 'dirigent' programme for young women conductors, she is also active with various ensembles as a conductor.




There will be a retiring collection. The proceeds will go towards the choral and organ scholarship fund of St Jude-on-the-Hill.
